Graig Campus Virtual Tour
The Graig Campus is the largest of the five campuses of Coleg Sir Gâr and is based close to the village of Pwll on the South West Wales coast in Llanelli. With views over the neighbouring Gower peninsula, the Campus is a great place to study with a range of well-resourced teaching facilities and the Hwb, a contemporary designed, student area for personal support and learning.
About Graig Campus
Within the Hwb are a range of learner support functions such as learner mentors, a careers office, counselling suite, learning pods and the Student Union. Upstairs houses a social area for students to relax which is adjacent to a Starbucks Coffee Shop and the campus Library which contains a comprehensive range of e-resources, books, magazines, papers, journals and IT equipment.
There is a great feeling of community and vitality at the campus brought about by a mix of enthusiastic students studying different disciplines. They are nurtured, cared for and guided by dedicated and experienced members of staff who help them reach their maximum potential, enabling them to move to their next stage of learning, whether it is at college, university, employment or self-employment.
Also based at the campus is Sir Gâr 6, the College’s A-Level facility which includes the More Able and Talented (MAT) programme and the Sports Academy which provides sporting opportunities for elite athletes in a range of sports. There are specialised facilities to support education, learning and training in a number of Curriculum Areas. These include:
- a computer aided engineering centre utilising industry standard software packages;
- engineering and manufacturing equipment incorporating CNC machines, digital laser scanning technology and 3D printer;
- the Forge Fitness Suite and Sports Hall, available to all learners;
- the Forge Theatre, a flexible professional facility with state-of-the-art sound, video and lighting;
- a sports analysis suite, two gymnasium and a weights facility housing modern training equipment;
- an international standard all-weather sports training pitch and three grass pitches;
- superb hair dressing and beauty salons;
- a professional dance studio;
- a television, film and recording studio;
- Roland Music Academy incorporating the latest electronic musical equipment from Roland;
- Well-equipped science and computing laboratories.
All classrooms are well-equipped with Wi-Fi technology for learning. The campus is the main centre for AS and A level courses as well as, access to higher education, creative industries, sport, public services, engineering, computing, business, travel and tourism, health and social care and hair and beauty.
